Machakos county governor Mr Alfred Mutua has reshuffled his cabinet. Governor Mutua made changes to his cabinet in what he termed as re-organization of the government to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

"Today, I have made a cabinet reshuffle in my government so as to streamline services and to recall ministers who had been sent on compulsory leave due to various reasons that have now been solved," he said. 

In a letter dated March 21, 2016 that communicated the reshuffle, Mr Mutua said that each minister would be given specific projects and work schedule to undertake as part of a Performance Contract System. 

The full list of cabinet nominees include: Joshua N Musili (Transport, Roads, Public Woeks and Housing), George K Luka (Decentralised units, County Administration, Water & Irrigation), Naomie Mutie (Health and Emergency Services), Dr Sunik Dhali (Trade and Economic Planning), Faith Kithu (Education, Youth and Social Welfare), Ruth Mutual (Agriculture, Livestock and Urban Planning), Larry Wambua (Tourism, Culture, Cooperative Development and Marketing), Elizabeth Nzyoka (Finance and Revenue Collection), Eng Francis Maliti (Environment, Waste and Sanitation Management), Hellen Kiilu (Public Service, Labour and ICT) and Grace Munguti (AG County Secretary and Head of Public Service).

"Those unable to serve the people of Machakos as required will be asked to resign. In addition, as part of enhancing efficiency, scaling loopholes and dealing with graft and lethargy, I have also directed the Minister of Finance and Revenue Collection to undertake sweeping suspensions and reshuffles in her ministry," noted Mutua.
