Machakos Governor revealed a sensational claim on Wednesday that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka received a Sh350 million bribe to join Cord in 2013.
Mutua unveiled the claims while appearing before the Senate Public Accounts and Investment Committee, where he also linked Kalonzo with massive land grabbing.
“That it is alleged that as part of the deal to join CORD, he was bribed over Sh350 Million delivered through Senator Johnston Muthama,” read the letter in part.
Upon the receiving the colossal amount, the former vice president allegedly bought a helicopter at Sh200 Million.
“That he has bought Eurocopter B3, Registration No 5Y DKK at Sh200 million. The source of the funds is suspicious given that he has no known profitable business undertakings. As a public figure, he should account for the source of his wealth,” said the letter.
The letter where the quotes are emanating from was written by Ndegwa nad Ndegwa Advocates to the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission, National Land Commission and Commission on Administration of justice with Governor Mutua copied.
However, Senator Muthama who was present in the sitting interjected wanting to know the authenticity of the letter
“Who authorised Ndegwa and Ndegwa Advocates to write this letter? Who gave him instructions to write to EACC? We don’t want to be given documents collected from the streets,” said Muthama.
