Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has hit out at critics questioning his push for presidency in 2022.
Mutua said he will not listen to critics maintaining that his eyes are set on presidency.
In an interview with a local daily on Saturday, the Maendeleo Chap Chap governor denied neglecting his duties as the Machakos county boss.
He said his visit to various counties and regions across the country is for the sake of development and not personal.
Mutua stated that he is committed to ensure Machakos people get services.
"It is malicious for people to claim that I have abandoned my duties as governor when in real sense we are on the ground working hard for the people," Mutua said.
He said his critics were jealous of his development record hence want to water it down.
Mutua asked residents to shun propagandists and work with him as he seeks to fulfill the development pledges he made during his 2017 campaigns.
The governor completed his four day tour of Nyeri County on Saturday.
Mutua was on official visit of the county which he says was for the benefit of Machakos people.
The Governor has been under criticism with a section of Machakos elected leaders terming him a tourist governor.
The leaders argue that Mutua is wasting time visiting other counties at the expense of serving Machakos people.
Governor Mutua is also being accused of start his 2022 presidential campaigns at the expense of executing his mandate.
