In a tweet Saturday, a day after the two met and agreed to put aside their political differences, the county boss hailed the move terming it as a courageous step.

Coming at a time when the nation is grappling with political division, further worsened by the heavily contested August 8 presidential contest which left a section of Kenyans feeling isolated, Mutua observed the union as a sure avenue towards the restoration of a united nation.

He advised both the President and the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-chief to stick to their new national healing initiative and give a cold shoulder to tribal leaders who would like to see the nation continue to suffer under the ethnicity menace.

''Kenyans feeling included in the National agenda is vital, Uhuru and Raila are courageous and I urge them not to be derailed by a few known fence sitters. This “new beginning” is about all Kenyans and development, not using tribal cocoons to bargain for positions. Kenyans First!'' Mutuasaid.

The President and former Prime Minister, on Friday, held a closed door meeting at Uhuru's Harambee House offices in Nairobi, after which they pledged to shelve their political rivalry and together tackle national shortcomings for the benefit of the country.
