Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua announced that he has created a football tourney dubbed 'Dr Alfred Mutua Maendeleo Chap Chap Football Tournament'.
He said that the aim of the tournament is to grow talent across all the three counties that fall within Ukambani region- Machakos, Makueni and Kitui Counties.
To start off, Mutua said that they will select locations in those three counties where the games will take place, but pledged to hold meetings with various stakeholders to discuss on strategies to run the tourney professionally.
"The football tournament will also provide a platform for our people to support their own as they develop their personal talent," Mutua wrote on his official twitter handle.
Each location shall be given one soccer ball and two jerseys for the players that will be taking part in the tournament.
He said that the tournament will run for six months, with the winning team walking away with Sh3m.
