Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Tuesday night stormed a live KTN interview, claiming the TV station was giving his opponents more airtime to tarnish his development record.
He said he rushed to the scene where the programme was set up after being told a group of youth was planning to burn down broadcasting equipment.
“We sent him a message the previous day, Monday, July 31, at 9.30am but he did not reply even as the day progressed. Now he is suddenly here, maybe he could tell us why he’s here,” said KTN’s Mashirima Kapombe
The governor said that he was informed about the situation on Tuesday and he rushed there to rescue the media housed during the “Kivumbi” panel being hosted on KTN.
The county boss said that the panelists are right to share their opinions but he asked the press not to entertain propaganda as we head to the elections.
“The panelist’s opinions are his right but when he begins lying about things in public, especially about my development track, Kenyans know me and my track record. So if someone comes here and says my work is to take photos on a project and then leave Machakos residents without any roads, that is annoying people," said Mutua.
