Machakos County boss Alfred Mutua has warned Kenyans especially National Super Alliance (NASA) for using a defaming tag against him in their campaigns. The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader has threatened to take legal action against those calling him ‘Kavaluku’ that is a Kamba word for a hare.
The mammal has long ears with admirable speed. However, it's universally known trait is its cunning nature. African tales mostly use the hare as part of its characters and its behavioral traits are always slippery. It resembles the domesticated rabbit.
Opposition’s attacks on Governor Mutua is centered at the mistrust is associated with Kavaluku. He deserted Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party and formed Maendeleo Chap Chap on whose ticket he will defend his gubernatorial slot. Many view this move as a betrayal to his political mentor, something that they associate with the hare’s work plan.
Mutua has warned opposition against using political platforms to insult him. He has vowed to demand hefty compensation in corridors of law.
The former government spokesperson says he has a right to choose which party to associate with hence pledging to support Uhuru Kenyatta is not a crime.
The incumbent governor will face Wiper’s Wavinya Ndeti in the August polls. The former CCU party leader has promised to send Mutua home early in the morning.
