Youths from Machakos County have called on Governor Alfred Mutua to address increased unemployment in the county.
They accused the governor of failing to address unemployment issue among the youths in the county as the situation worsens.
“Governor Mutua should stop making fun about the youth who are jobless deep in the villages,” said Violet Mbiti.
They spoke during a forum dubbed, 'Jiactivate Mtaa' at the Youth Resource Centre in Machakos town on Monday.
Mbiti said youths had been excluded from public participation and governance leading to low paying jobs.
“We have been sidelined and denied opportunities to play roles in developing the county, youths deserve to get a cake in Mutua's government," Mbiti said.
