Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has hit out at Governor Alfred Mutua accusing him of failing to deliver the key promises he made to the people in the run up to the 2013 general elections.

The MP instead claims that Mutua is engaging in propaganda at the expense of service delivery.

He claimed that there is no development being done in Machakos as being portrayed by Mutua.

“Governor Mutua has failed miserably and is only engaging in Public Relations to get sympathy from the people,” he said during  an interview on K24 Alfajiiri Show on Monday (today) morning.

The MP alleged that the development projects Mutua is boosting off are nowhere to be seen.

Mwangangi criticized Mutua for lacking priority and focusing on projects that are not beneficial to the people.

“Mutua has been busy planting flowers in the name of beautifying the county when the people have no water and good roads,” he said.

The MP asked Mutua to set priorities and stop wasting taxpayers’ money on non-beneficial projects,” he added.

The Yatta MP claimed that Mutua is riding on the development projects being initiated by the national government to gain credit.

He observed that the county over the last four years has been allocating Sh 30 Million to every Ward for construction of community health centers but no single community health center has ever been completed.

He asked Machakos locals not to be deceived by Mutua and make informed decisions in the forthcoming 2017 polls.

Meanwhile, the MP has defended his defection to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.

He said that his defection was meant to ensure that residents have access to development.

He vowed to work with the Uhuru Kenyatta government to ensure residents benefit in terms of development.

The MP exuded confidence of being elected on a Jubilee ticket in the forthcoming 2017 polls.
