Governor Alfred Mutua has asked NASA leaders to use constitutional mechanisms if they are unhappy and want to challenge Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election as president in the October 26 repeat election.

Addressing journalists at county offices on Thursday, Mutua said that the constitution provides clear guidelines on how NASA and anyone should present his or her issues if aggrieved with the October 26 repeat presidential poll.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party leader states that NASA has no right to use unconstitutional tactics to challenge Uhuru’s re-election.

“NASA leaders must know that there is a constitution which every citizen has to abide to and respect and therefore anything being done outside the law should not be condoned,” he told journalists on Thursday.

The Machakos governor termed NASA planned product boycott as unconstitutional.

He said that the opposition has no right to asks supporters to boycott certain products and services in the name of pushing for electoral justice.

Mutua observed that NASA planned product boycott will be disastrous for the country’s economy. He claimed that the opposition wants to sabotage the economy and expose Kenyans to misery.

“Asking Kenyans to boycott certain products in the name of fighting for reforms is not wise,” Governor Mutua added.

The Machakos county boss asked Kenyans and NASA supporters to ignore the product boycott calls, saying that NASA leaders are selfishly using them to achieve their personal agenda.

Mutua also dismissed NASA’s proposed Peoples Assembly saying it's inconsequential.

The governor claimed that NASA leaders have run out of political ideas and are now desperate after their plan to cause constitutional  crisis by withdrawing and boycotting the October 26 repeat polls flopped.

Governor Mutua said that the country has to move on adding that NASAs alleged threats and intimidation to Kenyans will not work.

This comes as the opposition has already listed Safaricom, Brookside and Bidco as companies whose products NASA supporters should boycott.
