Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has gone to court seeking custody for his three children.
Mutua has been in conflict with his estranged wife Josephine Thitu Maundu in a tussle that has lasted for two years now over their children and property.
Governor Mutua claims that Josephine went with the children to Australia without his consent. He had earlier reported the matter to Spring Valley police station and informed the police that his wife and relatives had abducted his children.
However, Josephine said that Mutua was aware of the trip and he had paid for the tickets claiming that she no longer lives with Mutua and that she went to Australia together with the children on November 6 in order to have a break from the “failed Marriage”.
She also claimed that Mutua had allegedly intimidated her in public highlighting and incident where she was allegedly evicted from her seat in a function and security ordered to move her to the back section of the dais.
Mutua wants the court to issue an order directing Kenyan High Commissioner to Australia to assist him in bringing the children back to Kenya.
However, Thitu claims that Mutua abandoned the children in 2012 and started living with another woman.
