Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has urged NASA leader Raila Odinga to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.

Mutua says that Raila’s support for Uhuru will help the country unite and recover from the traumatizing election process.

Governor Mutua noted that the former Prime Minister (PM) has a crucial role to play in uniting and reconciling the country.

Speaking to journalists in Machakos on Tuesday, Mutua at the same time asked Uhuru to reach out to Raila and push the country’s development aged forward.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap  (MCC) Party leader said that Raila’s push to be sworn-in will not help but complicate unity among Kenyans.

The governor cautioned Raila against the swearing-in noting that it is ill-advised.  “I want to urge Raila Odinga to support president Kenyatta’s government and help him chart way forward for the country’s unity,” he said,

Mutua said that he respects the former Prime Minister but blamed his closest allies for misleading him.

He noted that Raila and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka are statesmen but people close to them are misadvising them.

The Machakos governor went on to reveal that he left Wiper Party not because of Kalonzo Musyoka but because of the people who were close to him.

Mutua asked NASA leaders to stop their dream of swearing in Raila Odinga and instead focus on service delivery.

He said that NASA politicians pushing to have Raila sworn in as president are enemies of the country development progress and Kenyans unity.

NASA insists that plans to swear-in Raila are on course.

On Sunday during a people's assembly consultative meeting in Kilifi, Raila assured his supporters that he will be sworn-in as the people’s president.

Raila said that he is not afraid of lifting the Bible to take an oath noting that he will rather take a bullet than sit and watch Jubilee’s tyranny and oppression rule.

The government, on the other hand, has maintained that any efforts to swear-in Raila amounts to treason.
