(Photo/nation.co.ke)Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has warned NASA leaders and supporters  against fanning violence during their planned rally in Machakos on Saturday.Speaking to journalists at his office on Thursday, Mutua said that NASA is welcomed to the county on condition that its leaders and supporters maintain peace and preach unity.The Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) Party leader said that police will not tolerate acts of violence, incitement and looting.Mutua asked the police to ensure law and order is observed during the opposition rally."NASA should know that we are a peace loving county and any acts of violence during their planned Saturday rally will be met full force of the law," he said.Mutua questioned NASA's political rallies saying that they are unnecessary since the election period ended witht the supreme court ruling that upheld president Uhuru Kenyatta's victory.He asked the opposition to give Kenyans time to recover from the long election period and also allow the country's economy to stabilise.The governor said that NASA is not justified to continue holding rallies, adding that such events are only creating anxiety in the country.NASA is expected to hold a series of rallies across Machakos on Saturday in push for creation of people's assembly.The oposition's National Resistance Movement (NRM) will first hold consultative meeting at the Maanzoni lodge before joining NASA top leaders in the rally.On Friday (today) NASA will hold a fund raiser at the Laico Regency for victims of police brutality.NASA has announced a series of events and rallies that will culminate into a major rally at Uhuru Park on Tuesday next week the same day president Kenyatta will be taking oath of office for second term.
