Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua now wants Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to quit active politics, claiming that his political goose is already 'cooked'.
Speaking to journalists after inspecting the ongoing construction of the 72 kilometer stretch Konza-Machakos- Kangundo road on Thursday, the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) governor said that Kalonzo's Tuesday move not to attend Raila Odinga’s illegal swearing sealed his political fate.
The Machakos governor said that Kalonzo should blame himself for the problems he is facing.
“Kalonzo Musyoka refused to listen when we told him that he was destined to fail by associating with the likes of Raila Odinga,” he said.
The Machakos county boss added that NASA had planned for Kalonzo’s failure a long time ago.
The governor claimed that NASA will not back Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid after he betrayed Raila Odinga by skipping his Tuesday inauguration.
“The agreement Kalonzo had with Raila is now trash if the events of Tuesday 30 January 2018 are anything to go by,” the Machakos governor added.
He asked Kamba locals to forget about Kalonzo saying that the former Vice President has continued to fail them.
Kalonzo continues to receive criticism for snubbing Raila Odinga’s swearing on Tuesday.
The Wiper leader alongside Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula was a no-show as Raila took oath as the people’s president in front of thousands of supporters at Uhuru Park.
Kalonzo has however defended his absence noting that it was unavoidable.
On Thursday, during a joint presser at OKOA Kenya offices, Kalonzo said that he is committed to NASA agenda and ready to take oath.
The emotional Wiper leader recounted the events that saw him skip the swearing-in assuring NASA supporters that he is still in the alliance.
The opposition is expected to release a comprehensive statement on Friday on their next course of action.
