Mutua was given the name for his tendency of launching non-tangible projects and promising the residents heaven when he can't even provide the earth for them.

In early 2016, the governor claimed he had bagged a fruit processing plant project from Dubai which would benefit fruit farmers in Machakos County.

The news was happily received by farmers who were eager to have such a factory in their region as Mutua had promised, a new company in every sub-county.

Mutua vowed to desist from politics of stories and empty rhetoric stating that a Dubai company would begin groundbreaking to set up the factory in three months time.

He said the project would not only benefit farmers but more than 200 youths who according to him were to secure jobs in the plant.

Just weeks later, he claimed to had bagged a second fruit processing plant. Something that was criticised by residents from Machakos and its neighboring counties.

It is unbelievable that despite Mutua's promise that the company's construction would begin in a few months time, there is no single fruit processing plant in the county two years later.

The residents now think the governor just took them for a ride to recapture his seat.

Mutua had equally promised to secure professional jobs abroad for 300 youths from the county, a promise that has remained a dream till now.
