Residents of Mitaboni in Kathiani sub-county, Machakos county have mocked governor Mutua after he said two weeks ago that Machakos county is the safest.
The irate residents accused the governor of turning a blind eye to the issues affecting the people of Machakos and acting like all is well.
Two weeks ago, Governor Mutua threatened doctors on strike and stage-managed smooth progress in level 5 hospital while we knew everything was not okay.
"It's obvious the governor was just acting but for us who stay in Machakos county, know the truth, that everything is cosmetic and dramatic," said a resident who sought anonymity.
This comes after a series of attacks were carried out in Mitaboni and Ngelani areas on Thursday night that left five nightguards dead and several seriously injured.
The residents said that the governors' pride on dealing with serious issues in the county has led to people losing their lives.
This is after the watchmen who were injured in Mitaboni during the attack were forced to be taken to Makueni hospital a hundred Kilometres from Machakos due to the strike by doctors in Machakos level five hospital.
