Mutua said he will ensure he fulfills the promises before 2022 polls.

In an interview with a local daily on Monday, Mutua said his government is on course in terms of service delivery and that there is no need for local's to panic.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader asked locals to ignore propaganda being peddled by his criticks that he has abandoned his duties.

“We are on course and we intend to fulfill the pledges we made to Machakos people before the 2022 general election,” Mutua said.

Mutua said his focus is on service delivery, adding that he will not fall to political blackmail.

The governor cited road renovations, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and provision of water as his areas of focus.

Mutua said his government had set aside Sh200 Million to complete renovation of 40 roads across the county.

He disclosed that his administration had fully stocked public health centers, hospitals, and clinics in efforts to make healthcare affordable.

Mutua said he will work until his last day in office as governor to ensure Machakos people get services.

The governor has been under criticism with a section of politicians accusing him of campaigning for 2022 instead of serving the people.

The politicians led by former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has been accusing Governor Mutua of allegedly using county resources to market his 2022 presidential bid under the Maendeleo Chap Chap party.

Mutua is among top leaders who have declared interests in the presidency in 2022 general election.

On Saturday, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana declared support for Mutua's 2022 presidential bid.

Kibwana said Mutua is free to campaign in Makueni even as calls for the Kamba community to unite ahead of the 2022 general election intensify.
