Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has said that he will not retire from active politics once his term comes to an end in 2022.
Mvurya says that he will venture into national politics and continue serving Kenyans.
Speaking to Matuga residents on Sunday, Mvurya said that he is too young to quit politics.
The Jubilee governor said that he will only retire when Deputy President William Ruto is elected president and serves his two terms.
Mvurya said that he will be leading campaigns for William Ruto in 2022.
He said that his has still strength to serve Kwale residents and Kenyans at large at the national level.
“I will not retire once my term comes to an end in 2022 because I am still too young to quit politics,” he said.
Mvurya said that Kwale residents wants him to venture into national politics in 2022.
The Jubilee governor who ditched Raila Odinga’s ODM party in 2015 and joined Jubilee said that Coast region has benefited from Jubilee administration.
He asked the Coast region to unite behind DP Ruto in 2022, noting that he has the experience to take over from where President Uhuru Kenyatta would have left in terms of development projects.
There have been claims that Mvurya is being fronted to Deputize William Ruto in 2022.
Mvurya who is serving his second and last term was elected as Council of Governors (COG) chair last years.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to have pushed for Mvurya’s election as COG boss.
The Jubilee governor will take over form the current COG chairman Josephat Nanok once his term expires.
