Residents of Nyamira County have accused county governor John Nyagarama for giving a deaf ear to the electorates’ calls to sack corrupt officers in his government.

The angry locals said Nyagarama’s laziness is to blame for the increased cases of corruption in the county. 

“We can’t afford to see health officers using ‘OMO’ to sterilize theater equipment instead of using the medical chemicals,” said Eugene Mokua.

Celine Ondoro said if governor Nyagarama will not act immediately maternal deaths will substantially rise.

“ Governor Nyagarama should wake up now before several women and babies die in the maternity wards,” said Mrs Ondoro. 

Early this week, the county was ranked the 7th most corrupt by EACC after recording over 7000 cases of graft.
