Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has broken his silence over the arrest of Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire calling for his release.
Mr Bosire was arrested Tuesday together with five other Cord lawmakers by police over what they termed as uttering inciting remarks during a press conference at Capital Hill offices.
Nyagarama who was speaking during the launch of ECDE teaching and learning materials in Nyamira, wondered why the police had taken long to arraign the MPs in court and enable them to be released on bond.
He asked the police to hasten their investigations to ensure Bosire and his colleagues are freed.
"I want to ask the government and the police to hasten and conclude their investigations and the legal processes to ensure that our MP (Bosire) and his colleagues are charged and released on bond/bail rather than keeping them in cells,"he added.
The six are among eight MPs who have been arraigned in court on Friday to face hate speech charges.
