Governor John Nyagarama and other Political leaders from Nyamira have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of former president Mwai Kibaki following the death of former first lady Lucy Kibaki.
In a statement posted on his official page, Nyagarama expressed deep sorrow upon learning of the former First Lady's death.
“On my behalf and on behalf of the people of Nyamira County, I send my heartfelt condolences to the retired President Mwai Kibaki's family for the loss of his dear wife Mama Lucy Kibaki," the post read.
“May God grant the family strength during this difficult moment. The people of Nyamira will continue to pray for the Kibaki family," the post continued.
West Mugirango constituency Member of Parliament James Gesami also conveyed his sympathies to the Kibaki family via his Facebook page.
Mama Lucy Kibaki is reported to have died in a London Hospital after he was taken ill for about a month.
She died at the age of 75 years.
