Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama says his political rivals are making work difficult for him.
Further, he says, the perceived rivals have been peddling rumours about his regime, thus making it difficult for progress to take place.
“Nyamira residents should not blame me for lack of development in the county because my opponents have been peddling lies about my good leadership.
"Cartels have been colluding with some county employees to derail development in the county by diverting county development funds to their own pockets,” he said.
The ODM governor asked residents to shun his main rival, Walter Nyambati who unsuccessfully vied for the Nyamira gubernatorial seat during the August 8, 2017 polls.
“People like Nyambati are desperate to lead Nyamira but no one will use orthodox means to impose himself on the people of Nyamira.
My opponents should consider supporting so that I can support them in 2022 when I will be retiring. I want to leave a legacy behind by developing Nyamira County to improve the lives of Nyamira people,” he added.
