Days after losing his son, Governor John Nyagarama can at least smile after doctors in the US declared his health stable.
For over one month now, the second term ODM governor has been under treatment in the US in what sources say is advanced age health problems.
The 74-year-old governor is now expected to jet back to the country next week ahead of his son, Ndemo Nyagarama's burial.
"I can assure you that Mzee is now fine and ready to jet back home. Doctors have examined him and declare him out of danger.
"This is even good news provided that the burial committee was struggling to come with the date of the son's burial," a source said in confidence.
Mr. Ndemo Nyagarama, 44, succumbed to acute meningitis early this week at Nairobi Hospital and his burial may be delayed again because a few of his relatives are out of the country.
Before jetting to US in May, Nyagarama handed over to his deputy Amos Nyaribo, who has been executing governorship roles.
