Joseph Omondi has now been appointed the new Chief of Staff with effect from June 13, according to a statement by Governor Nyong’os Press Unit.

Omondi was a lecturer of Mathematics and Statistics at the Masai Mara University.

Nyong'o terminated Ouya's contract on Tuesday, after he allegedly threatened to shoot him and his deputy Mathews Owili.

In the termination letter, Governor Nyong'o said Ouya was found in breach of Article 75 of the Constitution and Section 40 of the County Government Act.

“I have today terminated your appointment as Chief of Staff with effect from June 12, 2018 due to gross misconduct unbefiting of a public officer and contrary to Article 75 of the Constitution and Article 40 of the County Government Act. Please hand in all County property and equipment in his possession to the county secretary immediately,” Nyong’o told Ouya in the letter.

However, the former Chief of staff denied allegations of threatening to harm his boss.

He said that he had a cordial working relationship with Nyong'o, pointing an accusing finger at the governor's allies for what he claimed was portraying him as being against the county government.
