According to Nyong'o, militia were taking advantage of the demonstrations to steal and damage property. The county boss said the National Super Alliance (Nasa) governors had come to an agreements that the demos will only be held in Nairobi county. He however noted that the protests can be held in the Lake city if called by NASA. The ODM governor condemned acts by rioters who blocked roads, looted and pelted vehicles with stones during the past protests. He termed the acts as criminal. Nyong'o warned the residents that police will deal with anyone who goes against the law. "We've asked police to deal with anybody putting stones on the road. Anybody molesting a dweller residing in Kisumu will be treated as a criminal," said Nyong'o.
