Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o is back.
Nyong'o arrived at the JKIA on Tuesday afternoon from the US where he has been recuperating after undergoing hip bone surgery in United Kingdom.
Two days ago, Nyong'o sent best wishes to the people of Kisumu County as they begin the Lenten celebrations. He had said he would be back into the country on Tuesday February 14, and later head to his county on Friday February 17, 2018.
"All are invited to come and help welcome him at the Kisumu International Airport on that Friday at 2 pm and thereafter to an interdenominational prayer at the Freedom Square (formerly Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground)," read a communication from the County's Governor's Press Unit on Sunday.
Nyong'o left to UK early January, for a 90-minute surgery which involved an eight centimeter cut on his thigh as the hip bone was replaced with an artificial one.
Upon arrival, several county leaders welcomed him back, led by his Deputy Dr Ochieng Owili.
