Kisumu County Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o held a consultative meeting with the management of Kisumu Water and Sewerage Company (Kiwasco), Friday.
Led by the Managing Director Eng David Onyango, the company updated the governor of its current state of affairs.
"We shall work hand in hand with Kiwasco to ensure that every household in Kisumu County gets clean drinking water," affirmed Nyong'o.
The move comes after he visited Kisumu County District Hospital, where he found almost all operations, literally grounded.
"After the first five years of devolved governance in Kisumu County, unfortunately, the county has been a disappointing underachiever, with great potential. This has come as a result of poor leadership and bad governance," Nong'o said, during his swearing-in ceremony.
"We must not lose the gains and goal of devolution. We must take devolution to the people, root it in the villages, let public resources be used to change the life of our people for the better, starting right in the villages and in the estates where people live in Kisumu City," he said.
