In bid to familiarise and engage with several ward elected leaders, Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o and his Deputy Dr Ochieng Owili hosted all MCAs elect in the county, for a dinner.

The leaders discussed Nyong'o's agenda for Kisumu, ahead of official opening of the County Assembly on Thursday August 31.

Nyong'o urged the county lawmakers to focus on passing bills that would uplift the plight of residents, rather than engaging in supremacy battles.

He said supremacy battles and political differences in the County Assembly would end up derailing development agenda, thus affecting the electorates.

Nyong'o who was elected through an ODM party ticket, ousting Jack Ranguma, vowed to work closely with the Assembly to ensure swift delivery of pledges made during his campaigns and details in his manifesto.

The meeting held at Grand Swiss Hotel in Kisumu, Tuesday, was attended by Acting County Secretary Dr Olango Onudi and Chief of Staff Patrick Ouya.
