[Photo/Busia County Govrnment]Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong has promised to raise the profile of sports in his county so that the county can earn international acclaim like other counties that have earned the praise through sports.Ojaamong said his government will take sports seriously. He noted there is need to encourage the youth to venture into various disciplines that they have comparative advantage." My Government will take sports very seriously. I want Busia to enter the annals of history by producing world beaters in athletics, football clubs in the county to feature in top tier league among others," said Ojaamong during his inauguration, Monday.The ODM governor further noted the Sports department will be funded very well to realize his agenda for sports in the county.Football Kenya Federation Busia Sub branch chairman William Musumba welcomed Ojaamong's move."It is our prayer that the officers who will be given the mandate to man the sports docket as County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers and Director of Sport should have vast knowledge and different proves of being the best sports giants even in the school careers," Musumba noted.According to Busia county government, the county has produced top football stars with the latest being Victor Wanyama who is playing for English Premier League side Tottenhum Hotspurs and MacDonald Mariga.
