[Photo/Busia County Government]Below is Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong's message as Kenyans mark 54th independence during today's (Tuesday) Jamhuri Day."As we Celebrate Jamhuri Day, I want all of us to take up the unfinished business of perfecting our union, by building transforming a better Busia County and Kenya.Time has come for us to run as we are destined to. While it is true that the Busia County residents need many things, it is critical for us to get our priorities right and to deal with them expeditiously. If every year we focused our energies on Seven or Eight priorities, our County would be completely transformed in less than 5 years and well on the path to achieving prosperity. Stakeholders and economic experts are on the process of producing County integrated Development program, that will steer the Development for the next five years; let's make the aspirations and the wishes of the common mwanainchi come true. Let's us reflect on our past and try to build on better future for all.As a County we have to look at our failings in the past and the opportunities we have missed not with regret but with a genuine commitment to do better at every opportunity afforded us.Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people, The Lord will do what is good in His favor.Happy Birthday Day Kenya 🇰🇪. Blessed the People of Busia County Happy Jamhuri Day."
