Governor Ongwae has been applauding the moves while his deputy has been criticising them saying that Mr Arati should stick to city politics.

This was evident when Mr Maangi said that Mr Arati was only imposing himself as the abagusii spokesperson a position according to him is currently held by Governor Ongwae.

"We are sorry to Simba Aarati as the community is not ready to endorse you at their spokesperson as currently we only recognize Ongwae and am sure after his retirement he will pass the mantle to me and we would like to advise you to concentrate in Nairobi Politics," Mr Maangi said at Marani.

However, Governor Ongwae has been on the forefront in support of Mr Arati saying that his agenda of unifying the abagusii was welcome.

According to Governor Ongwae the only way the members of the community will benefit is by working together and that was what Mr Arati was doing.

In his sentiments, Mr Arati has maintained that he is not at war with anyone and his aim was ensuring that the community speaks in one voice.
