A section of ward representatives now want Governor James Onward to speak about corruption allegations raised against Kisii Assembly speaker David Kombo.
The speaker for the last two weeks has come under sharp criticism with residents and leaders threatening to table a no confidence motion against him.
Boochi Borabu ward Representative Samuel Angasa said that the silence from the executive on the matters was suspicious especially at a time plans were underway to give Mr Kombo a quick retirement.
“We are all aware that ward representatives have planned to table a motion in the assembly that will see Mr Kombo sent home. However, the Governor has ever since remained silent om the matter and all we now want is him to give direction on the matter ," said Mr Angasa.
Nominated ward representative Caren Magara also said that the Governor should come out clear and say whether he was in support of the speaker or of ward representatives who were tired of corruption.
"It is either the Governor is with we who oppose corruption or on the other side. He should come out clear and tell us what he wants on the matter," she said.
The speaker, is accused of failing to account for Sh 16 million between December 2017 and January 2018.
However, Mr Kombo told Hivisasa that what was happening was purely witch-hunt And that he was ready to pay back the money.
