Various youth groups drawn from Kisii county are set to hold a peaceful demonstration on Thursday in Kisii town and petition the office of the governor for championing nepotism when it comes to employment opportunities in Kisii County.
The youths led by Julius Oyuma blamed Governor James Ongwae for using the current Chairman of Public Service Board David Kombo as a puppet in order for him to employ the people that he wants to the county offices.
“We are aware that the county has more 1,100 employees who cannot produce their letters of appointment, IDs nor original school certificates and we want to ensure that ends on Thursday onwards,” he added.
While addressing a press conference in a Kisii hotel the youth said that they want a proper structured Public Service Board that is independent and that give the locals the services they need and give jobs fairly.
Oyuma also added that if the governor won’t act on their queries they will ensure that they go to court.
