Tourists to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve are expected to increase as the political temperature in the country tones down ahead of the December holidays.
Narok Governor Samuel Tunai is optimistic that tourism industry will remain resilient despite the prolonged electioneering period that has led to a drop in hotel bookings.
Hotels, lodges and tented camps at the Maasai Mara Game reserve are expected to receive more guests after the Supreme Court upheld the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta signaling the end of the prolonged political period.
According to Tunai hotels are expected to receive more holidaymakers with most hotels now recording an upsurge in bookings.
The same is expected in Mombasa, Kilifi, Malindi Counties as well as other tourist attraction sites in the Country.
Already tourists have started arriving in Mombasa and Malindi with business operators exuding confidence that that business will recover following the end of political campaigns.
The repeat of the Presidential election on 26th October after the Supreme Court annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta’s election meant there were heightened political temperatures across the country, with the number of tourists jetting in reducing significantly.
Business operators have now urged the Government to provide them with a conducive environment to run their affairs saying politics aside, the Country needs to move forward.
