Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi has assured residents that he will serve them without fear or favor.
Speaking at the county assembly, the lawmaker said that he will form an all inclusive government to take care of the needs of the residents in the next five years upon his election.
“I emphasize that we’ll be in this journey together to ensure we’re committed to bettering residents’ lives and livelihoods,’ Abdi said, as quoted by Star.
The county boss also said that he will start with pressing needs before considering others.
“I’ll ensure projects and programmes are guided by urgency to respond to the needs and priorities of our people,” he said.
Abdi also said that he has put in place measures to ensure that there is food security in the county during his administration. He further said that the past regime did little to improve the welfare of the livestock farmers, which is going to be a thing of the past following his election into power.
“We’ll work vigorously to become a food-secure and peaceful county through development of sustainable rain-fed and irrigation agricultural models, thereby enhancing strategic grain reserves” he added.
