Lamu Governor Fahim Twaha has declared war on corrupt county officers.
The governor has said his key objective is to create a corruption free government that would ensure equal opportunities to all county residents.
He assured residents of prudence in the use of funds allocated to the county from the national government each year.
Twaha said his adminstration will not tolerate corruption and will deal mercilessly with anyone found culpable.
He noted that the county officers are entitled to protect public resources and promised to ensure a thorough vetting of all county officers before they are employed to serve the county.
"Lazy workers will not have room in the government. People need quality services which must be achieved by hard working employees who are not corrupt", he said.
