Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has vowed to involve residents in the running of county affairs.
Samboja, who won the governor seat on a Wiper ticket in the recently concluded general election, said public participation will be the heart of his government.In an interview with People Daily after being sworn into office on Monday, the former journalist urged residents not to shy away and instead actively engage with his government.“I will work closely with the people and seek their views and opinions on key maters like budget making and other policy and administrative issues at the county,” he said.Samboja said his agenda is to ensure residents have access to services as provided for in the Constitution.The county boss said he will form an all-inclusive government with both men and women of integrity to oversee development.Samboja stated that his administration has workable manifestos that will streamline service delivery and better residents’ living standards.He appealed to elected leaders in the county to support his administration and it seeks to propel the county towards economic success.
