Marsabit Governor Mohamud Abdi has warned county employees against corruption, saying those who will be implicated will face the full force of the law.

In a media briefing in his office on Saturday, the Jubilee governor asked county staff to adhere to the Chapter Six of the constitution on Integrity.

Abdi said that his government will put on place proper measures to monitor and tame graft.

He said that corruption is to blame for the stunted development in the county.

“My administration will not condone any form of corruption or misuse of public resources and whoever engage in the vice should be ready to face the ‘music’,” he said as quoted by the Star.

The governor said that he will work closely with the ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and other national government agencies to ensure the county is a free zone to corruption.

The Jubilee governor also said that a life style audit will be conducted on county staff periodically in one of the measures aimed at taming graft.

Abdi urged residents to commit to service delivery saying that those who work diligently will be recognized and rewarded.

The Marsabit governor also vowed to exorcise ‘ghost’ and incompetent staff.

He said that an audit to get rid of ‘ghost’ workers is ongoing.

Governor Abdi also put on notice employees who were recruited though the back ‘door’ saying they will have to go.

Abdi won the governor seat defeating Ukur Yattani in the recently concluded general election.
