Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago has put on notice criminals who always took advantage of stealing from people in towns and causing havoc during festive seasons.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town over the weekend, the Governor said that security officers were on high alert.
Mandago said that criminals would be dealt with accordingly adding that security enforcers would be conducting 24 hours patrol to maintain security for the residents.
“Our security enforcers are on high alert and would not give room to criminals to cause any havoc,” said Mandago adding that his government would support security officials in a fight to deal with criminals in Uasin Gishu.
Mandago also called on residents to cooperate with the police as they sought to promote safety in the area.
Mandago also asked entertainment joints operators, supermarkets owners, churches and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) operators to put in place safety measures for their customers.
He added that security matters should not be taken lightly and that every Kenyan should play a role in ensuring safety wherever they were.
Mandago urged leaders to use this holiday season to preach unity and harmony amomg Kenyans adding that unity was critical to development and that leaders should use their forums to preach peace instead of focusing on petty politics.
