Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has said lazy contractors will not be given any contracts in the county.

Kinyanjui said his administration is focused on developing the county to boost lifestyles and anyone derailing development will not be given room.

"Lazy contractors doing shoddy work will not get an opportunity to work on roads or any other contract in the county. Contractors should work around the clock to finish their contracts in time," he said.

Kinyanjui said he will follow up on a contractor working on Molo-Kibunja road which has stalled for long.

"The county will work closely with the national government to ensure roads under national government are well maintained for easy transportation especially during rainy seasons," he added.

He said the Boresha barabara programme he launched aims at upgrading interior roads across the 55 wards in the county.

Kinyanjui challenged MCAs to prioritize development because they were elected to serve the people equally.

He was speaking on Saturday when he attended the burial of Loise Wanjiku, mother to the county secretary Benjamin Njoroge at Tayari farm in Molo.
