Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui has raised alarm over the increased number of street children in Nakuru town.
Kinyanjui said his administration is committed to end the street children menace.
“Street children will be moved from urban centers for the streets to be clear. Parents neglecting children will also be dealt with accordingly,” he said.
Kinyanjui urged relevant authorities to move with speed and clear the children from the streets.
“I am appealing to the relevant department to deal with the street children menace. In the next few days we expect the streets to be clear as street children will be moved to rehabilitation centers,” he noted.
Early, MCAs and residents had also raised concern that the children in the streets had posed a security threat.
