Kisumu governor, Jack Ranguma, has received backing for his re-election bid.
This is after elders from the Kasagam community, of the Luo tribe, supported him, saying they want him to continue leading the Lakeside county, for a second term.The elders also endorsed the independent candidate, as their elder.Ranguma who lost the ODM party ticket in April primaries to area senator Prof Anyang' Nyong'o, was given a spear and traditional outfit, symbolising his new role as an elder in the Kasagam community.Accompanied by his running mate, Ephraim Kananga, the trio were blessed by the elders, Thursday, who prayed that they take the Luo Nyanza county, to greater heights, by winning in the August 8 polls.
Earlier in the day, Ranguma commissioned Nyalenda and Kachok - Manyatta community water projects which to increase access to clean and safe water for locals.
