Different leaders in Kisumu County continue to send their condolences to the family of Odote Ojiem.
Odote passed on on Wednesday at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi following an operation.
Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma said the people of Kano and entire Kisumu have lost a bright elder.
"I want to take this chance to send my condolence as governor of Kisumu to the family of Mzee Odote K'Ojiem who passed on in Nairobi at Aga Khan hospital," said Ranguma.
Until his death, Odote was a member of the Luo Council of Elders.
Kisumu East MCA John Osumba Olum said Odote was a straight forward person who rebuked evil.
Osumba added that the demise of the former councillor has happened at a critical time when there is division in the Luo Council of Elders.
Nyando MP Fred Outa and MCA Ombeyi ward Joshua Auko also condoled with the family.
Odote also served as councillor of Ahero Town Ward.
