The governor said long-term resolutions should be made to avoid future shedding of innocent blood in the region.

“I highly condemn the killing of two people and injuring of more others that was witnessed along Nandi and Kisumu border. As a leader, we should not be silent about this. I call upon Nandi leaders that we help one another to solve this problem,” he said.

The governor called for peaceful coexistence even as he strives to engage in talks that will see the problems affecting them solved .

“We are all Kenyans. We should not kill one another. If there is a disagreement over land, then there are better ways of solving than killing one another and destroying properties,” added governor.

As a result of conflicts, people from both sides of the border particularly women, elderly and children are moving out of their homes, fearing possible attacks.

The displaced are currently camping at various centres including Achego AIC Church, Songoh Post Office and at Oriwo Primary.
