A section of leaders from Siaya County have faulted Governor Cornel Rasanga of sidelining them during mass voter registration drive.
MCA hopefuls from South East Alego Ward in Alego-Usonga Constituency alleged that the county boss is working with only a handful of politicians to campaign for the drive.
According to the complainants, Rasanga’s move is likely to jeopardize efforts of the opposition to unseat President Uhuru Kenyattta and his Deputy William Ruto.
Speaking at a hotel in Siaya, the leaders said the exercise requires joint efforts.
Led by Mr Michael Odiang’a, the leaders called on Rasanga to appreciate the effort they are making as both the opposition and Jubilee seek for register more voters before the end of the exercise.
Shadrack Sewe also bashed Rasanga for allegedly having a soft spot to some leaders in the area.
Nominated MCA Sylvia Migaya and Nicholas Rajula reminded Rasanga that the mass voter registration is not a campaign platform.
They, instead, asked the incumbent to bring together different leaders to ensure a successful voter registration.
Rasanga will be defending his seat in the next general polls on an ODM ticket.
