The county boss, who spoke at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, said that the council of elders is attempting to impose leaders on the people of this region, which he termed as unacceptable.
Roba said that the council has lost touch with the needs of the people, adding that they should stop interfering with the leadership of the region.
The lawmaker also said that the council is a baseless unit that no longer understands the needs of the people.
This is after the EFP wanted all the leaders elected in 2013 replaced after its chairman Isaac Hassan Abey said there were going to be no nominations in the county ahead of the August general polls
"This council has lost touch with the needs of the people in the area. We must tell the people the truth that voting is their democratic right. And they should be not be intimidated by some forces who have lost focus and want to impose leaders on the electorate in the region," Roba said.
The council of elders has continued to receive criticisms from different factions as we head to the polls.
