In an interview with the Daily Nation, the Mandera Governor appealed to the national government to deploy more security personnel in North eastern to hunt down suspected terror agents behind series of terror related attacks being experienced in the region.

He said that locals are living in fear following increase in Improvised Electronic Device (IED) attacks.

“The national government should deploy more security personnel to restore security and hunt down suspected terrorists who want to cause fear as we head to the election,” he said.

Roba said that there is need for the government to enhance security especially this campaign and electioneering period.

The governor said that political aspirants are afraid of campaigning using vehicles following increase in (IED) attacks targeting vehicles.

Mandera has experienced increase in related terror attacks mostly IEDs.
