Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has rubbished claims in section of the media that he is eyeing the National Super Alliance presidential ticket days after join the opposition outfit.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Rutto said that his decision to join NASA has nothing to do with being endorsed as flag bearer.

The Governor said that he joined NASA because his party shares the same agenda with the opposition outfit.

“I did not join NASA to be picked as flag bearer but to work with the alliance on key issues facing country,” he said.

The Governor further dismissed claims that he was paid to join NASA.

“It is inaccurate and unfair for some people to claim that I was paid to join NASA, that is false and malicious,” he said.

The Governor said that he will support the candidate that NASA picks to flay its flag in the August polls.

“I will support the candidate that NASA picks  whether Musalia, Kalonzo, Wetangula or Raila,” he added.

Ruto assured NASA of South Rift region votes in the August 8 polls. He said that South Rift and larger Rift Valley locals are tired with Jubilee’s poor leadership.

On Tuesday Rutto announced his decision to join NASA. He will be officially welcomed to the Alliance today (Thursday) at the Bomas of Kenya.

Pressure is mounting on NASA to name its flag bearer who will battle it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta and others in the presidential race.
