Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto believes his Chama Cha Mashinani party will win more seats in all elective positions on offer in the 2017 polls, ruling out any possibility of dissolving it to join Jubilee Party.
Ruto has been at loggerheads with the UhuRuto's Jubilee Party and occasionally engaging the Deputy President in a public spat.
Speaking on Tuesday at Kineni on the Borabu-Sotik border during a peacekeeping mission in a region that has been witnessing cattle rustling, the county boss insisted that his party would clinch a number of seats as it prepares to spread across the country.
“Mashinani party is there to stay because it is founded on democratic ideals. We are not dictatorial like some other parties we know and that is why I believe we are going places from now henceforth,” he said.
“We are having more people registration across the country and hopefully, we will win elective seats that would be in contention next year. We do not fear anyone because we have our own plans. There comes a time when you try on your own,” he said.
He said the party was the alternative in Rift Valley, a region which he cautioned that was not ready to be auctioned politically.
“We will invest in Rift Valley because nobody is ready to be auctioned as some individuals are trying to do. The future is in CCM and we will get more big names soon,” he said.
