Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto will soon knock out DP Ruto as Rift Valley kingpin, says political analyst Dismas Mokua.
The two political allies cum enemies have been wrestling for control in the vote rich region and at times their engagement has led to ugly scenarios.
While Governor Rutto is championing for election of Raila Odinga as President, DP Ruto has backed reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“This is an issue of time and I am seeing a scenario where DP will be reduced to nothing by Governor Rutto. His influence cannot be undermined,” he said.
He adds: “The general complaint is that Jubilee hasn’t fulfilled her pledges in Rift Valley and this propaganda is working well for Rutto.”
An opinion poll by Ipsos Synovate showed that opposition NASA has gained tremendously in Rift Valley over Jubilee and it was directly attributed to Governor Rutto’s influence.
In his persistent attack on DP, Governor Rutto has often accused him of meddling in local politics by endorsing Sotik MP Joyce Laboso for governorship.
